Review
Okay… so going from the synopsis, it is a little far fetched… but hey, it is fiction right? This is one of the few stories from Stephen King that I have enjoyed. It is one of the few stories from him that isn’t “overwritten”. Both the movie and the book were very entertaining, the movie actually stays very close to the book and not changed like they do for many other adaptions.
The lessons and story of the book are very good. It is a story about what people will do to get ahead in this world… to destroy a friend or enemy just to further yourself. Of course there is a shining light (Sheriff Pangborn) and he shows the town how to band together and how to love each other again after so much destruction and deceit by Leland Gaunt (the devil)
The story and movie are layed out very well, they both compliment each other nicely, but I still recommend reading the book before watching the movie.
Happy Reading and Watching!
